I started swimming at the YMCA in Grand Haven Michigan, then in Elkhart Indiana at the YFCA for short course and A.A.U. We moved to Brownsville Texas and I swam with the Blue Dolphin Aquatic Club. I also swam for the Bloodhounds in Brownsville for my three years of high school there- and began teaching swimming. At Texas Tech 82-87, I trained with the team for a year- and then became the Womens Swim Team Manager for two more years. The experience there contributes to my coaching now as well. Then I moved to Taipei Taiwan, where after a masters team spotted me regularly swimming laps- they invited me to join them. I started coaching the Summer of 1995 as an assistant coach with the Blue Dolphin Aquatic Club. This fall 2009 is really my first year of coaching swimmers through a short course season! I also teach, over at South Texas College 1998-current- - things like Business, Marketing, Customer Service, Human Resource Management, Communications for Technical Managers, Problem Solving, Resource Management and other things- these don't really make me a better coach- however having studied many things in many ways generates a valuable bit of hubris- which I think may be my best asset as a coach
